SUKITA STUDIO

Welcome to my studio! I'm Cindy, it's nice to meet you.

SUPPLIES

These are the exact supplies I use for my art! None of these are sponsored or affiliated links, just my 100% genuine recommendations.

Some other tools I use that I purchased in person are:
- Baby wipes
- Toothbrush
- Paint brushes
- Acrylic paint
- Floor tile
- Atlas pasta machine
I recommend gathering as many of these as you can if you'd like to start making clay things. Happy crafting!* Please look into resin safety before using it! Resin is a highly toxic chemical that must be treated carefully

TOOLS & MATERIALS

Please use the navigation bar below to see what I used for each video. Since I can't fit lengthy explanations in 1-minute TikToks, I hope these resources will help if you want to try your hand at my crafts!

TOOLS (OTHER)

Tools & Materials

It brings me so much joy to hear I've inspired someone to craft! TikTok videos don't offer much time for explanations, so I will be discussing my most-used tools and what I would recommend to a beginner. If I don't specify where I bought something, it likely came from eBay or Aliexpress! Happy shopping. :D

Blade & X-acto Knife - $2-4
Must-haves for all crafters! I have both, but if I had to choose just one, it would be a long blade. (I will not be adding an image for trigger reasons.)

Nail Dotting Tools - $2
Also known as ball tools! I have them in different sizes and they are extremely useful for creating circular indents, adding texture, and picking up small bits of clay.

Silicone Blending Tools - $3-4
These are my holy grail for clay crafts. Texture, blending, and picking up small clay pieces—they are extremely versatile and I cannot recommend them more!

Needle Tool - $0-2
You can make your own or buy one. I made my own years ago by wrapping some clay around a sewing needle and I still use it today! It's my ride or die. (I will not be adding an image for trigger reasons. Also, my needle tool is rather unsightly.)

Ceramic Tile - $1-2
You can get these at your local hardware store. I like to work on ceramic tiles because they're very easy to clean and don't stick to the clay.

Rolling pin - $2-3
Use a plastic or acrylic one, not a wooden one. Some people use their dotting tools to roll their clay, but I find those to be too skinny. The thiccer the better!

Tools & Materials Pt. 2

These are the more advanced and niche tools you might have seen in my videos. You certainly don't need them to start crafting, but I do love them!

Chalk Pastels/Soft Pastels - $5-15
Only necessary if you want to make semi-realistic baked goods. I also use them to add blush on my creations, but you can of course use pink clay instead.

Miniature Bottles - $2
I bought mine at my local dollar store, but there are tons online too. They make extremely fun shaker charms!

Baby oil - $2
Can be found at any pharmacy or supermarket! I fill my shakers with baby oil as well as use it to soften my polymer clay.

Liquid Polymer Clay - $10-15
I buy mine from Shades Of Clay but they are also a commonality at craft stores. They're perfect for adhering clay, softening it, and making various sauces. Highly recommend if you want to make miniature food!

Epoxy Resin - $20 - 100+
I use 1:3 part resin from Rusty Design, but I recommend 1:1 part resin for beginners, or those who dislike math haha. Please always wear gloves and a mask when working with chemicals!

Various Resin Supplies - $2-15/each
Scale: I highly recommend this to easily measure out your resin. Having incorrect proportions can lead to your pieces being too brittle, too bendy, or not cure at all.
Popsicle sticks: great for mixing! They're the perfect size and I just wipe the resin off after so I can reuse the stick.Plastic measuring cups: they're good for measuring if you don't have a scale, but aren't as accurate. I like to use them to mix colours in instead!Glitter: need I say more? Get those sparkles, you lovely bean.

Frequently Asked Questions

I always enjoy chatting with you and answering your questions! Due to the sheer volume of these inquiries though, I will be answering them here:

Q: What kind of clay do you use?Polymer clay! Premo and Fimo are my top picks, but occasionally you'll also see me use decade-old blocks of Sculpey III as scrap clay.Polymer clay is oven-bake and it's completely safe to do so in your home oven. I bake mine at 275° F for 30-45 mins, but it can vary depending on the size of your project.

Q: How long have you been using polymer clay?Over 10 years, on-and-off as a hobby! I've never taken it too seriously or done it professionally, which is likely why I still enjoy it after all this time.

Q: Where do you buy your craft supplies?I get 99% of my tools and materials on Aliexpress and eBay. I specifically do not buy them from Etsy or Amazon sellers because they are usually the same products, just marked up. Save your money, folks!I buy polymer clay from Shades of Clay, my favourite retailer. Polymer Clay Canada is another great Canadian option. Try to buy it in bulk and on sale to save your coins!

Q: How long does it take to film a TikTok?Short answer: 10+ hoursLonger answer: it fluctuates depending on the craft! Most of the time though, the breakdown is 7 hours of filming, 2 hours of editing, and 1 hour of adding text, effects, and voiceovers.Filming takes so long because I have to constantly wipe dust off the creation, set up good shots, and fix mistakes--having a camera in your face adds a lot of difficulty, so I have to work much more slowly!

Q: When will your shop be up?It's up! www.sukitastudio.com <3

Q: Can I commission a custom charm?I don't think I will ever open commissions, I'm so sorry! They:1. take too long to make (due to extra research and practice) and I would feel awful charging someone so much. I'm always up for learning and trying new things, but at my personal pace!
2. aren't always something I want to make. Even if they are, in order to avoid the immense pressure and potential of burnout, I won't be offering customs.
The only occassion I would consider offering custom crafts is for a giveaway, so please look out for the next one! ^_^

Q: Who inspires you?I haven't actually been asked this question, but I really want to tell you. (Please check them out, I literally can't stan them any harder. <3):Alpacagalore, Birduyen, CoolRiceBunnies, Dakiarts, Ivy.Tart, Kawaii_Studios, Lemonteacharm, Melody Virus, Neyunara, Pearfleur, Puffifish, TheLittleMew, Tomatoda, YeureireiAnd of course, the close friends who cheer me on every step of the journey. Please surround yourself with loving people and never forget the support they've given you when you get to where you're going.

If you have any other questions, please reach out!

About Me

She/her • 24 • Canadian • Chinese

Nice to meet you! I'm Cindy, a recent graduate enjoying unemployment and an identity crisis. I went to university and college for video game design, which is not as cool as it sounds, and here I am making full use of my degrees! My other interests include illustration, character design, graphic design and creative writing. When I'm not making stuff, I'm likely playing Pokémon Go, League of Legends, Jackbox, or Genshin Impact. Those games inspire me the most, and I highly recommend them (except for League)!
